Our 2025 judges
Community update, 13 Oct 2025
What a contest it has been so far folks. Only a few weeks until the close of submissions on October. If you've got a draft, it is now the moment to polish it off and send it through. We're very excited to read all the stories! On that note, here are the judges for the first annual The Aluminium Crown Short Story Contest:
Oisín 'Okay' Kan is a writer and aspiring wizard, currently carving a wand from the trunk of a dead Manna Gum.
Jacky T is a poet & producer from country Victoria, wearing city life like an itchy woollen sweater.
Jessie Giles is time poor parent who likes to disappear into worlds that are not her own; writer & poet.
The two other judges have now finished and uploaded stories for your perusal, The Cube by Jessie Giles and Embrace Chane by Jacky T. The stories are wonderful!
Thanks to everyone who has gotten involved so far. It is great to see people writing and thinking about the future of our city home, Melbourne. The reaction of the populace has been electric!
